Opening Al Qubba Library, South Valley University


Dr. Ahmed Zaki Badr, the Minister of Local Development, Major General Abdel Hamid Haggan, the governor of Qena and Dr. Abbas Mansour, the president of South Valley University, Dr. Ashraf Hatem Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities have attended the opening of Al Qubba Library at the Faculty of Arts at South Valley University in the presence of Dr. Khalid Hamza, President of Fayoum University and Dr. Ashraf Mansour, the president of the German University-Cairo. the minister of local development praised the rapid development at South Valley University in the recent years, expressing his pleasure for opening Al Qubba library, which contains valuable books, maps, manuscripts and notes contribute to the enrichment of scientific research and helps foreign and Egyptian researchers to benefits of the what the library contains, he praised the support of the German University for German universities and civil society, which helpeded in the opening of Al Qubba Library, South Valley University.
Qena governorate confirms the importance of the library as an educational, cultural and heritage services because of its content of the books and manuscripts. Also it is a great contribution of the German University to South Valley University
Dr. Abbas Mansour, the president of South Valley University praised continuous support from the German University to South Valley University Library in opening Al Qubba library, which is a distinguished addition to the scientific research at South Valley University
Dr. Ashraf Hatem, the General Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities also expressed his happiness with the library that reflects the cooperation between the German University and the governmental universities, and contributes to the dissemination of knowledge, scientific research and help researchers Egyptians
Dr. Ashraf Mansour, head of the German university and stressed that the cooperation and support ongoing between the German University and the University of South Valley in all scientific fields and praised the role of the President of South Valley University in upholding the university and continuous evolution

Dr. Mona Rabea’, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, added: Al Qubba library includes many books, manuscripts and periodicals as it includes about 712 books in Arabic , 7530 books in English, French , 111 books in Oriental languages , about 24 maps for Egyptian and Arab geographical landmarks, about 241music notes, about 6 manuscripts in addition to 17 periodicals.
The opening was attended by Dr. Abo El Fadl Badran, the former Dean of the Faculty of Arts, faculty agents, teaching staff members and their assistants and Dr. Yasser Rajab, the head of Libraries department at Faculty of Arts .
