Luxor through the Ages


On Oct., 22, 2017, Prof. Abbas Mansour, President of the University, opened the conference entitled” Luxor through the Ages” in Luxor House of poetry where he asserted the conference’s importance an initiative to cooperate with Luxor House of poetry that is a Center of thought, culture and enlightenment. He referred to the conference’s topics that contributed to shed light on the history of civilization of Luxor. Additionally, he praised the role of Governor of Luxor Dr. Mohammed Badr in establishing many faculties at the governorate. Besides, he talked about the last terrorist events in the Egyptian oases, calling the attendees to stand together against this terrorism. Moreover, Prof. Mohammed Abul Fadal Badran, Vice President for Students’ Affairs, referred to the history of Luxor and the importance of scientists and writers, asserting the role of the university in serving the surrounding community. Dr. Laila Yusuf, Secretary of the Conference, talked about the relation of the conference’s topics to Luxor that has 30% of world monuments, referring to the researches that the conference would discuss over two days.
