Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of South Valley University, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Rahman Gwail, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Gamal Abdel Hamid, Head of the Urology Department, the Faculty of Medicine organized the first scientific workshop on oncology surgery & congenital, Dr. Ali Abdel Rahman Gwail conveyed the greetings of Dr. Youssef Gharbawy to the participants in the workshop and his praise for the role of the Faculty of Medicine in scientific research and serving the surrounding community, which raising the university’s classification and raising its position among universities.
Dr. Gamal Abdel Hamid indicated that a group of urologists from Egyptian universities are participating in this workshop, including Dr. Ali Abdel Karem from Alexandria University, Dr. Mahmoud Shalaby from Assiut University, and Dr. Mohamed Kamal from Menoufia University, He also added that the surgical interventions would be performed over two days include 2 cases of kidney tumor removal, 2 cases of treatment of kidney pelvic stenosis, and 2 cases of removing prostate enlargement, in addition to doing a laparoscope for a suspended testicle for two children with the latest modern surgical techniques as a garage laparoscope, a bipolar prostate cutter, and laser.
Dr. Omar Al-Sogheer, from the Urology Department, gave a presentation on the Urology Department at the Faculty of Medicine and the stages which passed through, Dr. Mostafa Abdel Razek also thanked the Faculty Administration, Dean of the Faculty, as well as the companies supporting this workshop.
at the end of the workshop, Dr. Ashraf Al-Hawary, Undersecretary of the Physicians’ Union, commended the role of the Faculty of Medicine in spreading health awareness in society through holding campaigns and training programs in the community, the workshop events have been witnessed by Dr. Ahmed Abu Elesser, a group of Faculty’s undersecretaries, the heads of departments, and faculty members of the Urology Department.
