Launch of the 5th International Medical Conference of Universities in South Upper Egypt.


As part of the presidential initiative by the Alliance of Universities in the South Upper Egypt Region, a delegation from Qena University participated in the 5th International Medical Conference of Universities in the South of Upper Egypt, held from April 27 at Merit University in the new city of Sohag. The conference was attended by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Akkawy, the President of Qena University; General Tariq Rashid, the governor of Sohag; Dr. Sawsan Abdel Hamid Morsi, the rector of Merit University; Dr. Hassan Al-Numani, President of Sohag University; Dr. Louay Saad El-Din, President of Aswan University; and Dr. Mohamed Wael Abdel Azim, the vice-president of Qena University. The event, in collaboration with the University of East London in the United Kingdom, featured broad participation from local and international attendees, including universities in South Upper Egypt (Qena, Sohag, Luxor, Aswan, and Merit) and researchers and specialists in the medical fields from Egyptian, Arab, and international universities under the slogan “Good Health, a Better Life.”
During the conference, participants emphasized its importance in supporting faculties in the medical sector. Discussions included a scientific platform for exchanging experiences and organizing scientific sessions and workshops. At the end of the conference, Dr. Sawsan Badr presented the conference shield to the Governor of Sohag and the presidents of the participating universities.
