A symposium on etiquette and protocol at the Faculty of Media, South Valley University


        In cooperation with the Social Solidarity Unit at South Valley University, the Public Opinion Research Center held a symposium on etiquette and protocol under the auspices of Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of the University, and the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Kamal Nasari, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Helmy Mohseb, Dean of the Faculty of Media, Dr. Muhammad Emara, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Sherihan Mahmoud, Director of the Center, and Professor Noura Aref Abu Bakr, Social Solidarity Unit Coordinator, Basma Othman, Responsible for Awareness Activities, Alaa Adel Mahmoud, Responsible for Protection and Economic Empowerment.

Dr. Somaya Abdel-Rady, Professor of public relations at the Faculty of Media, spoke at the symposium, with the participation of university students and volunteers of the unit. The symposium dealt with the following:

  • The importance of protocol and its origins.
  • The formal and diplomatic protocol.
  • Protocol in International Relations.
  • Protocol rules.
  • The difference between protocol and etiquette.
  • The concept of etiquette and its rules.
  • Principles of dealing through social media platforms.
  • The relationship between the director and employees.
  • Social etiquette.
  • Precedence rules.
