The department’s mission is to provide students with the knowledge,
information, and skills necessary to design and evaluate various
pharmaceutical forms that effectively deliver the drug to the patient’s
body. This is achieved by studying curriculum related to the
properties of different pharmaceutical preparations, methods of
preparation, development of their formulations, and factors that
affect their stability and effectiveness on the one hand, and Those
that affect absorption and pharmacokinetics of the drug in the
patient’s body on the other hand.
It extends to include teaching for the postgraduate level, where the
department participates in teaching of Clinical Pharmacy Diploma
and Pharmaceutical Technology Diploma. It also offers postgraduate
programs that include a master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences
(pharmaceutics) and a doctorate in pharmaceutical sciences
(pharmaceutics).
