Appendix (3): Oena Governorate Environmental Policy |

This policy was declared during an extended conference chaired by Qena Governor and attended by officials of several governmental organizations in 2003. Main policy directives included: 1- Preserving the environment and the safety of all the employees in the Governorate Head Office. 2- Pollution prevention, continual improvements in the governorate environmental status and creating an appropriate atmosphere for the employees in each and every governmental agency. 3- Adhering, without exceptions, to all the applied laws and legislations in addition to the internal rules and the governorate policy concerning environment. 4- Streamlining environmental concerns into all the Governorate economic and social developmental plans, and taking heed of the environmental dimension in all the projects implemented within the governorate. 5- Effective participation of citizens, developing resources and gathering all human and materialistic potentialities to address all the localities' problems in a bid to achieve the decentralization. 6- Determining the environmental goals of the governorate and service directorates and thoroughly accomplish such goals, provided that there is a periodical follow up for checking the developments achieved by the governorate and undertaken by its own citizens. 7- Expansion in the green areas and protecting trees and every green leaf. |
