announces the admissions procedures for foreign students
in the AY 2006 / 2007. |

South Valley University ( SVU
) is located in the southern part of Upper
Egypt
which is considered the cradle of
civilization
and contributed to
the arts , literature and
knowledge of the world. |

|
The main campus is located in Qena , South
Valley University has three other branch
campuses in
Luxor ,
Aswan and
Hurghada. |
|

Foreign students at SVU have a unique opportunity to

First : Application
procedure: |
|
|
|
|
|
Applicants must submit the
following documents to the university |
|
|
-Original General Secondary
School Certificate the ministry of foreign affairs in
the student’s country must certify the document and the
Egyptian Embassy should authorized it . |
|
|
- Original birth certificate authorized in the way mentioned above .
|
|
|
- A statement of
approval from the foreign student’s Embassy or Cultural bureau in Cairo ( a
prerequisite for admissions within the minimal
limits of all faculties |
|
|
- A photocopy of
passport . |
|
|
- 6 recent photographs |
|
|
- An envelope
from the General Directorate of foreign students ( costing 55.40 LE ) . |
|
|
- Letter of
application. |
|
|
- Information
form ( origin + 2 copies ) . |
|
|
- Label of
interests to write down the favorite faculties in which
the student can be admissible . |
|
|
- A guide to the student
foreign students ; it includes information about the
universities and higher institutes and information about foreign certificates equivalent
to the Egyptian Secondary
School Certificate . |
|
|
|
|
|
Second : |
|
|
|
|
|
- Foreign student must
fulfill the requirements and be medically
examined to make sure that the applicant has no
infections diseases and is eligible for studying
according to the regulations of the Supreme
Council of the universities |
|
|
- Students are
admissible within the minimal limits of the foreign
secondary School Certificate . |
|
|
- Students who
have no recent qualifications will be admissible via the
ministry of Higher Education . |
|
|
- Student from
Saudi Arabia ,
Lebanon ,
Palestine ,
Jordan ,
Yemen ,
Qatar , The Sudan ,
Tunisia and
Algeriaare admissible
via the directorate of Arab affairs |
|
|
- Student will be enrolled
in the faculties of Medicine and of Fine Arts via the
directorate of Arab Affairs |
|
|
|
|
|
Third: |
|
|
|
|
|
Foreign students are admissible
only as freshers. |
|
|
|
|
|
Fourth: |
|
|
|
|
|
1-Tuition fees: |
|
|
|
|
|
(A) Bachelor degree: |
|
|
|
|
|
1-1000 sterling pounds are paid as a
registration fee for the first time for the faculties
of arts ,law, commerce and education (departments of
arts) and 1500 sterling for the other faculties and
institutes. |
|
|
2-1000 sterling pounds as an annual
tuition fee for the faculties mentioned in (A-1)and
1500 sterling pounds for the other faculties and
institutes. |
|
|
|
|
|
(B) Postgraduate degrees: |
|
|
|
|
|
1-1200 sterling pounds as a registration fee for the
first time for the faculties mentioned in(A-1) and 1700
sterling pounds for the other faculties and institutes. |
|
|
|
|
|
2- Annual tuition fees : |
|
|
|
|
|
-Diploma students pay 1000 sterling pounds for the other
faculties mentioned in(A-1) and 1300 sterling pounds for
the other faculties and institutes. |
|
|
-M.A./.M.SC.
students:1200 sterling pounds for the faculties
mentioned in(A-1) and 150 sterling pounds for
the other faculties and institutes |
|
|
-PH.D. Students: 2000 sterling pounds for the faculties
mentioned in (A-1) and 2500 sterling pounds for the
other faculties and institutes . |
|
|
|
|
|
Fifth: |
|
|
|
|
|
The University offers housing faculties for the
dormitories of the university after paying fees . In
case of limited spaces the university helps the students
find private boarding house or apartments. |
|
