Egypt, Cairo 11-12 February 2007

The Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research in Collaboration with the European Commission-DG RTD- E Biotechnologies, Agriculture and Food- is organizing a workshop on FP7 Agriculture, food and Biotechnology research cooperation between the EU and the Mediterranean partners. Was held in Cairo, on 11-12 February 2007, hosted by the Ministry of Agriculrure & Land Reclamation- Agriculture Research center (AGERI).

 

Workshop objectives
 
  • The aim of this event is to promote the launch of FP7 and networking between The EU and the Mediterranean parteners communities in the area of biotechnologies, agriculture, food and fisheries, in view of the first FP7 calls.
  • Furthermore, this workshop provided the opportunity to jointly discuss and identify further areas of mutual interest and complementarities in these research fields between the European Union and the Mediterranean region.
  • This workshop is follow up of a previous workshop organized by CIHEAM with the support of the European commission “Towards a Euro-Mediterranean Agricultural Research Area” held in Rabat, 6-7 March 2006.
