Prof. Dr. Youssef Garbawy, President of South Valley University, witnessed the closing ceremony and award distribution of the International MakeX Competition, which has held at the Digital Egyptian Creative Hub” Creativa Itida” at the University in cooperation with Technostim, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Badawy Shahat the Vice President for Education and Students Affairs, Hassan Osman, undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Qena, and the judging panel, which included; Dr. Emad Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Computers &Information, Dr. Faraj Khadary Undersecretary of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Rana Abdul Sattar, and Dr. Moustafa Hefey, Dr. Merfat Ahmed Badawy, Eng. Mahmoud Abdul Khaliq, Training Director of IT Institute, Eng. Ahmad Najih, and Eng. Randa Al Barkawy, Founders of Techno Steam.
Prof. Dr. Gharbawy pointed out that the robot is the language of the modern age, and we must learn it today to understand the life around us and the importance of competition as an opportunity for our children to develop their skills in this field.
It is worth mentioning that the MakeX competition is one of the world robot competitions that qualify for the world championships in China and takes place for the first time in Egypt from the age of 6 to 16. It aims to develop logical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving training, by educating the basics of programming & mechanical design. The Ceremony was held with the participation of more than 50 contestants from Egypt’s South Governates, from the age of 6 to 9 years, in competition on an open project to solve the problem of increased carbon in the atmosphere and climate changes using modern technology, and from the age of 10 years in the use of the robot in the implementation of various challenges on the pitch.
