Under the auspices of the Vice President for Community Services and Environmental Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, the Anti-Violence against Women Unit organized a lecture entitled “Egyptian Women and the Sixth of October War” at the Faculty of Agriculture. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Sayed, Vice Dean for Community Services and Environmental Affairs at the Faculty of Agriculture, confirmed the university’s interest in presenting many awareness and training lectures and seminars, paying attention to various national occasions, celebrating international days, and building communication bridges between the faculty and the outside community. The lecture was presented by Dr. Mohammed Sayed Ismail and dealt with the role of Egyptian women in the October 1973 war with their participation via women’s associations in serving the wounded and families of martyrs, volunteering in nursing, donating blood, and working in hospitals through the Egyptian Red Crescent. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Hala Senary, Manager of the Anti-Violence against Women Unit at the University, emphasized that the commemoration of the 6th of October victories strengthens the value of belonging and loyalty to the homeland. Lastly, Dr. Heba Abdel Moaz, Coordinator of the Anti-Violence against Women Unit, urged the students to develop their different abilities and learn about new cultures and technology to be able to serve their community.
