The National Alliance for Civil Development Action; through the Foundation for Good Makers, launched the second phase of the Convoys of \u201cSatr Wa Afya\u201d in the villages of Qena, with the follow-up of Major General Ashraf Al-Dawoudy, Governor of Qena and the presence of Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharabawy, President of South Valley University.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The Good Makers team escorted the unable diabetic foot patients who were carried out medical examinations in the first phase of the convoys yesterday and the day before yesterday in the villages of Tuwairat and Dandara, Qena City, to the \u201d Qadam Sahiha\u201d Initiative room in South Valley University Hospitals to start the journey of protection from amputation of the foot.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The second phase comes within the framework of the National Alliance\u2019s\u00a0keenness to continue providing integrated medical services for all cases by performing the required surgical interventions, handing over eyeglasses, and starting prolonged treatment for free.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharabawy emphasized the University\u2019s keenness to cooperate with the National Alliance for Civil Development Action and its members from civil society institutions. In support of the incapable segments in the geographical range, in implementation of the goals of the presidential initiative \u201cHayat Karima\u201d, and within the framework of the societal role that South Valley University is keen to provide in light of the implementation of President El-Sisi\u2019s directives regarding the need for cooperation of various state agencies, especially in the field of providing quality medical services.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

While Hany Abdel-Fattah, Executive Director, explained that the \u201d Qadam Sahiha\u201d initiative aims to provide medical care and awareness for diabetic foot patients to protect them from amputation. The initiative is implemented within a cooperation protocol with the Supreme Council of University Hospitals and under the auspices of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Social Solidarity to serve the people of Qena Governorate, with the follow-up of Major General Ashraf Al-Dawoudy, Qena Governor, and Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharabawy, President of South Valley University. Indicating that the \u201d Qadam Sahiha\u201d initiative succeeded in providing its services to more than 2000 citizens in Qena, where examination, treatment, and dressing were provided completely free of charge.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

With regard to the statistics of patients in the room, he stated that the room provided services to 2,000 patients with a monthly average of 160 patients, with a daily average of 20 patients in 8 working days, and the room succeeded in protecting 233 patients from actual foot amputation by handing them the supplies and treatment bag per month, with an average of 6 months for each patient. At a cost of 4,198,000,000 Egyptian pounds, in addition to providing the necessary guidance and awareness to patients on how to self-examine the foot at home, and training patients on the correct medical methods to bandage the foot at home using the dressing supplies which they received from the room.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
