Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharabawy, president of South Valley University, and Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Kamal Nassary, Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development Sector, a symposium on encouraging participation in literacy projects was held at the Faculty of Arts. In the presence of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Hakim, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environment Development Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Sayed, Manager of the Adult Education Center at the University, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Kamel, General Coordinator of the Project at the University, the Symposium dealt with the following:

• How to participate in opening classes for learners.
• Places and times of opening classes.
• Curricula for teaching.
• How to attract learners to the lesson.
• Skills that the university student must have in dealing with learners.
• Methods of communication with university coordinators.
