1-      Programme Aims

   To produce zoologist who are capable

- to identify various fauna characterising a specific habitat or a region in Egypt.

- to recognised evolutionary line of invertebrates and vertebrates.

 

To have a graduate student can deals with different scientific equipment and apparatus. Can write a scientific papers and reports. Have intensive Knowledge in the field of animal science.   Using computer to analysis the biological data.

 

2- Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs)

a- Knowledge and Understanding:

a1- Understanding the Animal Cell structures and functions.

a2- Studying of different phyla of the animal kingdom and basis of classification and evolution  with examples.

a3- Studying the genetics laws and human inherited characters.

a4- Studying  the different embryonic development  in vertebrates animals.

a5- Fishes raring and adaptation.

a6- Insects life and control.

a7- Studying the ecosystem and animal adaptation to different environment.

a8- Can write a scientific papers and reports and using computer to analysis the biological data.

b- Intellectual Skills

b1- Capability for relating function of an organ (or system) with its morphological and physiological characters.

b2- Relating animal behaviour to various environmental conditions

b3- Problem identification and solving e.g. fish stock of a lake, fish catchments

b4- Identifying interrelationships between animals and their environment.

c1- Animals raring, dissection and Examination of parasites infection.

c2- Biochemical analyses of  metabolites and hormones

c3- Using different tools in laboratory (Microscope, stains, apparatus  ect.)

The student should get at least a "good" grade in the course of specialty and at least a grade of "good" in the over all sum of degrees in the year before admission to the programme. Generally, the Faculty Council issues rules which regulate the distribution and admission of students to the programme considering the opinion of the Zoology Department.
