Professional Information
1- Programme Aims - to provide students with knowledge in various chemistry branches, in addition to other basic sciences. - to produce graduates who are capable to carry out environmental and agricultural chemical analyses. - to qualify graduates to work in factories laboratories and/or research centres.
2- Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) a- Knowledge and Understanding: a1- Knowledge on basics of atomic structure, periodical table of elements, state of matters, analytical chemistry, physics, geology and mathematics. a2- Increasing the ability of student to read books and write scientific research articles. a3- Gaining basis of statistics, computer and internet usages.
b- Intellectual Skills b1- Ability to select from different choices in laboratory and examinations. b2- Discussing and interpretation of the results both in laboratory or researches. b3- Use of computer and internet for chemistry and other science. b4- Training of students to prepare proposal of scientific projects and finding the solutions of problems. c- Professional and Practical Skills c1- Increase scientific information and principles of all branches of chemistry to use it in industries and researches.. c2- Training on applicable chemical analyses in various fields: agriculture, industry, water management and clinics. c3- Increase accuracy and precession of using chemical analyses in industries. c 4- Dealing with laboratory instruments and tools. d- General and Transferable Skills d1- Use computer in chemistry software programme. d2- Communication and internet tools. d3- Working in groups both in reaserchs and laboratories.

4- Programme Admission Requirements The student should get at least a "good" grade in the course of specialty and at least a grade of "good" in the over all sum of degrees in the year before admission to the programme. Generally, the Faculty Council issues rules which regulate the distribution and admission of students to the programme considering the opinion of the chemistry Department.
